JAG Out-of-School (OOS) Program Documentation Requirements

Participation in the JAG Out-of-School (OOS) program requires proper verification of authorization to work in the United States. This is a federal requirement because students participating in this program may receive federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) or Department of Labor (DOL) funds.
To ensure compliance with federal guidelines, students cannot be enrolled in the JAG OOS program without providing the necessary documentation. Documentation must be:
- Current and unexpired
- Collected and verified prior to program enrollment
Acceptable Documentation
Students must provide:
- One document from List A (establishing both identity and employment eligibility), OR
- One document from List B (establishing identity) AND one document from List C (establishing employment eligibility)
List A Documents
- U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card
- Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
- Unexpired foreign passport with a temporary I-551 stamp
- Unexpired Employment Authorization Document with a photograph (Form I-766)
- Unexpired foreign passport with unexpired Form I-94 showing authorization to work
- Passport from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) or Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) with Form I-94 or I-94A
List B Documents
- Driver’s license or state/federal ID card with photo or identifying information
- School ID with a photograph
- Voter registration card
- U.S. Military card or draft record
- Military dependent’s ID card
- U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card
- Native American tribal document
- Driver’s license issued by Canadian government authority
List C Documents
- U.S. Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration (not marked “Not valid for employment”)
- Certificate of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State (Form FS-545)
Important
Without this documentation, students cannot be enrolled in the JAG OOS program due to federal funding requirements.
